About Sea to Sky Gallery

A creative life, shared

HOW IT STARTED

We met on the first day of college — both enrolled in Music Fundamentals. Jenny was a vocalist majoring in art. Paul was a guitarist playing baseball. When Jenny walked in, Paul thought, “I know this person… where do I know her from?”
We became fast friends, born just four days apart. It wasn’t long before we were dating — and Jenny invited Paul to her art classes. Eventually, he registered too.

GROWING TOGETHER

We got married a few years later. Paul focused on his career while Jenny stayed connected to her art — designing for Street of Dreams homes and later becoming artist-in-residence at two schools.
Art was always there — evolving, steady, and ours.

The Vine Gogh Era

In 2011, a neighbor knocked on our door with an idea: a place where people could sip wine and learn to paint. We jumped in with both feet — no research, just vision.
We opened Vine Gogh, the first paint-and-sip studio in Oregon. Jenny taught, Paul joined in, and we built a community that brought joy to thousands. Jenny spent nearly a decade as Artist-in-Residence at Skamania Lodge.

THE PIVOT: GOGH BOX TO ARTCAST

In 2019, some customers who had moved away emailed to say they missed us. We launched Gogh Box Art Crate, a monthly subscription box with painting tutorials on YouTube.
Then came COVID. Vine Gogh shut down. We pivoted again, evolving into the Palette Knives Out Artcast — still teaching, still painting, still reaching people from afar.

SEA TO SKY IS BORN

The quiet moments of the pandemic made space for reflection. We realized we wanted to return to the kind of art that lives in our souls — personal, elemental, honest.
Sea to Sky Gallery is our future: a working gallery and studio on the Oregon coast where we’ll paint, host the occasional Vine Gogh weekend, and keep sharing through Palette Knives Out.

LOOKING AHEAD

We’re not leaving Vine Gogh or Palette Knives Out behind. We’re bringing them with us — carried by new energy, vision, and creative freedom.

This is the next chapter of our art life together. Thank you for being part of it.
